CONCEPT
This group is designed to incorporate music as a tool to join participants, engage creativity and emote the grit behind your voice and life experiences. Our final product will be a collaborative recording each participant will get to take home with them.
The co-facilitation of a music therapist and psychotherapist presents a unique treatment and experiential learning opportunity. Music assisted psychotherapy takes the client on a therapeutic journey towards the discovery of intimate thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and desires. Music is a helpful tool to cope with our surroundings and express our emotions and experiences.

David Braham MS, LMFT-S
David is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor. His primary clinical focus integrates issues related to peak performance counseling, trauma, gender violence, positive masculinity and fatherhood. Trained in family therapy, systems theory, and trauma-informed care, Dave has worked in diverse settings to provide psychotherapy to those in need. In addition to these experiences, he founded Sound Mind Austin to support the mental health and well-being of musicians and music industry professionals. He has been dedicated to working through the muse of music since his graduate thesis piloted a clinical study bridging the gap between psychotherapy and music therapy.
Eddie Konopasek MT-BC
Eddie is a Board Certified Music therapist and has been a support to teens and young adults through the power of music since graduating from the Berklee College of Music in 2011. Eddie has been a leader in the field and enjoys working with children who have developmental delays and finding innovative ways to help children and adults reach their potential socially, emotionally and physically through music as therapy. Eddie created a program called “Rock & Roll" music therapy and takes any opportunity to support those in need through this powerful medium.
